To promote the fostering of global environmental leader under the “innovation25″ and the reinforcement of science and technology diplomacy in Japan, we attempt to develop an education system for training international environmental leaders to identify problems and design strategic solutions at the national or local level from interdisciplinary and international perspectives.
One of our aims is to establish a center for training environmental leaders, who are capable of identifying problems and formulating strategic solutions at the national or local level through interdisciplinary and international perspectives. The globally noteworthy issue of how to realize a low-carbon society is an example of such problems and solutions. Another aim is to provide a platform of the collaboration between industry, government and academia to promote cutting-edge environmental research, to create the well-organized practical knowledge for solving environmental issues on a global scale, not limited to developing countries, and to provide the value-added knowledge to the front lines of international cooperation.
